At the end of the 1940s Harald and his son Rolf Johansson built a fishing boat for their own use. Word spread and they began to receive orders for more boats. Boat building was still a hobby, but in 1950s they decided to make it a full-time business. Johansson & Son was started. 60 years and over 300 boats later, the company has built a brand that symbolizes quality, beauty and a far unique craftsmanship.
We are a small family business where the craft goes down through the generations. Today the shipyard is owned and operated by Rolf's sons, Christer and Bengt. For the past 10 years, Fredric Hulander is also working here with us. A very ambitious and skilled boat builder.
Handcrafts are still running in the family. Almost 10 years ago Christer's daughter Sofi began to work in the company. The plan was to get her to take over after Maj-Lis, Christer and Bengt's mother, who had managed the company finances since 1953. In the mid-2000s Maj-Lis retired and Sofi had primary responsibility for the finances. Around the same time Christer's other daughter Lisa began in the company as an apprentice and office assistant.
We hope and believe that our passion for craft shows in our boats.
